The English and Secondary Education B.A. program at Columbus State University prepares individuals to become proficient secondary educators who are responsive to the unique needs of adolescents. Preservice teachers participate in a variety of field experiences to develop the dispositions and performances needed to be effective teachers of adolescents.
The English and Secondary Education B.A. program leads to certification at the fourth year level (T4 in Georgia).
Admission into the Teacher Education Program. Applications can be obtained in the College of Education and Health Profession's Student Advising & Field Experiences office in Room 107, Jordan Hall or call 706-568-2191 or 706-568-2194.
To be eligible for CSU's recommendation for a Georgia professional teaching certificate, students must complete a rigorous program of coursework. They also must meet certain other criteria required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
