Early Childhood Organization (ECHO)


Mission and Purpose of ECHO

ECHO is a registered student organization that unites dedicated and motivated students interested in improving education and childhoods of children through service projects and professional development of child advocates and educators.

The mission of the Early Childhood Organization (ECHO) at Columbus State University is to provide students with opportunities for professional development within the area of early childhood education and a platform for making a positive difference in childhoods and education of children in local and global communities.

Membership in ECHO is open to all students who are majoring in early childhood at Columbus State University and students in other majors with related interests in improving well-being and education of children.

Executive board meetings and open membership meetings are held regularly throughout the year. Members are notified of upcoming meetings via email and updated on the ECHO Facebook page.  Contact board members if you are interested in attending an upcoming meeting.

Membership Information

Membership in ECHO is open to all students who are majoring in early childhood at Columbus State University, or students in other majors with related interests (i.e., Special Education, Nursing, Counseling, etc.).

Membership dues are $10.00 for one semester or $20.00 for a calendar year. These funds are used to cover such items as material for workshops, honorariums for guest speakers, meeting refreshments, etc.

If you are interested in becoming a member of ECHO, you should complete the membership form and submit it, along with your dues in one of the following ways:

  • Plan to attend one of the upcoming meetings to join (Please see the ECHO Facebok page for the most current information)
  • Contact one of the ECHO board members
